What age is the Academy suitable for?
A.
The academy is suited to anyone wanting to learn how to fish and wanting to build up a tackle box of equipment suitable for fishing the majority of lakes, canals and rivers in the UK. The academy is perfectly suited to anglers with little or no existing experience!

How long does the Academy last for?
A.
The academy is a 6-month program. At the end of the 6 month subscription, your account is automatically cancelled and no further payments are taken.

What happens when I buy a gift for someone?
A.
When you purchase a gift plan you will receive a unique voucher code to share with your chosen recipient. The gift account is activated once the gift code has been entered by the recipient. Gift recipients can choose to access the Major Oak Angling Academy monthly, or all in one go.

Who has produced the coaching videos?
A.
We are very lucky to be working with Angling Trust Coach Educator, Colin Booth, to deliver our coaching videos which have been exclusively developed for the Major Oak Angling Academy. Colin has 35 years angling experience and has been coaching for the last 10 years.

What sort of tackle will I receive?
A.
You will receive everything you need to fish with a whip in the majority of venues in the UK for a range of course fish. Whip fishing is the simplest way to introduce new anglers to the sport. We provide high end tackle from a number of well-known fishing brands.
Q.
Do I need a rod license to go fishing?
A.
Children under 13 do not need a rod licence to fish in England. Children aged 13 - 16 need a junior licence (which are free of charge). Adults will need to purchase a licence if they are wanting to fish. Full licence information can be found here:
